Bryan Seaver, nephew of Dolly Parton, has reportedly been dismissed as head of security for her estate.
Seaver, who owns several private security companies, has been providing guards to Parton’s various properties for nearly 20 years. However, TMZ reported on Monday that his role was terminated, and new guards were sent as replacements across the late country singer’s estate.
Seaver told TMZ that he was “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions,” which he attributed to Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank.
Entertainment Weekly reached out to representatives for Seaver, Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank for comment.
The termination notice stated that Parton’s business interests are held by DP Dean Trust. While Seaver’s security responsibilities were stripped, his personal interest in the trust remains the same, according to TMZ.
“We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” Seaver told the outlet.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” Seaver said in the clip. “As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment, but haven’t truly felt it until now. It is an honor, an honor mixed with absolute pride and great sadness.”
Parton died following a brief battle with cancer. She was 80 years old.
