Iran’s Foreign Minister issues update on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei after reports he is dead

Conflicting reports are emerging over whether the ruler of Iran is dead or alive.

Israeli sources have reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was injured or even killed in the first wave of US military strikes early on Saturday.

The initial strikes appeared to target the compound of the 86 year-old in central Tehran, although it was not initially clear if he was there at the time.

Israeli media have now reported ‘growing indications’ that he was badly injured or even killed in the strikes. Khamenei hasn’t been seen or heard from since the US/Israeli operation began.

Other Israeli media outlets also reported the information, citing Israel’s Channel 12, but cautioned that a confirmation was expected.
