Leslie, a flight attendant, starts her day nursing a pounding headache after a night of partying. Despite feeling worn out, she boards a long cross-country flight, ready to get through the day. Midway through the flight, Leslie hears a strange, high-pitched crying coming from the airplane bathroom. Curious and concerned, she calls over her colleague Amy, and together they investigate.
To their surprise, they find a frightened little boy named Ben hiding inside the lavatory. What’s more shocking is that Ben isn’t listed as a passenger on the flight manifest. Ben explains that he accidentally got separated from his family at the airport and ended up boarding the wrong plane.
Clutching a small bag of medicine intended for his seriously ill grandmother in Seattle, he is terrified that without it, she might die—and he feels it’s all his fault. Leslie immediately comforts Ben, soothing his fears and promising to help him find his family and make sure the medicine gets safely to his grandmother.
As the plane lands, Leslie takes responsibility for the boy, arranging for him to be reunited with his family. She even buys him a ticket and accompanies him on the next flight to Seattle, putting her own plans on hold.
