This event took place in Spain. When the 10-month-old dog arrived at the shelter in poor condition, no one knew how she had ended up that way. Animal rights advocates found her abandoned.
The dog, named Pasta due to her extreme thinness, caught the attention of Edvardo, the shelter owner, who took on the challenge of rescuing and caring for her.
Upon arrival, Pasta weighed only 7.2 pounds, but thanks to Edvardo’s dedicated care, she now weighs almost three times that amount. Initially, she could only wag her tail and move her head, and few believed her treatment would succeed.
Edvardo noted that in all his years of practice, he had never seen a dog in such dire condition and doubted she would have survived another night on the streets. Though Pasta faced some initial health issues, these were resolved within a few weeks.
Pasta now lives with her rescuer and has befriended five of his other dogs. Fortunately, her story has a happy ending, and she is doing well.
